Dan Colman Wins Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open

Thursday September 4,2014 :  POKER-FACE DAN WINS ANOTHER HUGE LIVE EVENT

Colman nails a further major prize.

American poker pro Dan Colman maintained his growing reputation for poker-faced modesty this week as he claimed his fourth seven-figure score this year at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, raising his annual earnings so far to $21 million.

His latest $1.44 million payday follows massive wins in the Big One for One Drop at the World Series of Poker earlier this year and a second finish in the EPT Barcelona Super High Roller .

It was an expensive exercise for the Seminole Hard Rock, which posted a $10 million guarantee on the event, only to find that buy-ins were short $2.5 million as registrations sank from 2,384 in 2013 to just 1,499 this year.

After several tough days of competitive poker the field distilled to a final table that comprised Dan Colman, Mike Leah, Shawn Cunix, John Dolan, Joe Kuether and Martin Hanowski, with Hanowski holding the most chips, pursued by Colman.

By the time the heads up had been reached Colman held a 5 to 1 advantage over his last opponent, the redoubtable Mike Leah – a veteran in both online and live high stakes poker and a Team Ivey professional.

This time around that considerable experience and talent was to no avail against a red hot Colman, who soon pushed his advantage further before taking the honours and claiming the $1,446,710 main prize.

The rest of the final table pay-outs were:

Mike Leah – $1,047,638
Shawn Cunix – $748,313
John Dolan – $548,763
Joe Kuether – $424,044
Martin Hanowski – $324,269
