Dmitry Holdeew wins Eureka Prague main event

Friday December 13,2013 :  POKERSTARS SATELLITE QUALIFIER WINS BIG IN PRAGUE

German player triumphant in Eureka Prague main event.

Dmitry Holdeew, a German player who qualified via a Pokerstars satellite competition, has claimed the honours – and the Euro 226,400 first prize – in the Eureka Prague main event in the Czech capital.

To do so, he had to survive an entry list of 1,314 other players, a tough final table and a tense heads up with Canadian Ami Barer.

Holdeew and Barer were part of a final table that included Stephen Chidwick and Mark Dalimore from the United Kingdom; Czech players Milan Simko and Jaroslav Peter; Marcin Horecki of Poland and German ace Johannes Tiefenbrunner.

The heads up between Barer and Holdeew turned into a two hour affair which the German was finally able to dominate and win, leaving his opponent with a useful runner up take-home of Euro 131,400.

Other final table pay-outs included:

Stephen Chidwick Euro 92,500
Jaroslav Peter Euro 68,800
Mark Dalimore Euro 53,500
Milan Simko Euro 39,800
Marcin Horecki Euro 30,500
Johannes Tiefenbrunner Euro 21,700
