Reports are currently swirling around online poker message boards and some information websites suggest that major Internet poker sites servicing the US market such as PokerStars.com and Full Tilt Poker may be experiencing money movement problems.
The only official information currently available comes from Poker Stars Support in the form of an email to enquirers that states:
"Due to processing problems, our eCheck option is currently unavailable.
"Please try using another deposit method to fund your PokerStars account. If you would like information on any of our other deposit options, please visit [appropriate page on website]
"We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you."
It is unknown if other payment options are affected, but posts on the message boards suggest that this may be the case, with players reporting ‘bad' checks from Poker Stars, Full Tilt and Cereus (Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet), the three biggest US facing brands. The eChecks are also no longer working effective early Friday and there are few if any answers, players complain.
Other posters reported that Full Tilt sent out a batch of bonuses to affected players with emails asking that they hold on depositing the cheques.
The reports have inevitably led to speculation that a major official action may have been taken against US e-processing channels, but there is nothing to confirm this view so far.
Players have reported that the eCheck option has also disappeared from both PokerStars and Full Tilt, however the online poker information portal 4Flush reports that poker fans are still able to play at both major websites, but that there are reports of PokerStars checks not going through at banks, and a suggestion that the company may have asked cheque holders to hold fire on trying to cash these until they receive further information.
