Friday April 18,2014 : CANADA'S AFRIAT CLAIMS THE WORLD POKER TOUR SEMINOLE HARD ROCK CROWN
It's a $1.09 million pay-day for Canadian grinder, and his biggest career win to date.
Canadian Eric Afriat has survived an entry field of 1,795 to claim the honours and the $1.09 million top prize in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.
Afriat was around the middle of the pack when the final table kicked off, but with skilled and disciplined play he fought through to a heads up with the formidable Mukul Pahuja, where his massive chip advantage of 38 to 15 million enabled him to see off a tough final opponent without too much difficulty.
Pahuja's second-placing finish brought him $691,965.
The other pay-outs on the star-studded final table were:
James Mackey – $441,128
Jacob Bazely – $371,931
Matt Stout – $308,501
Chance Kornuth – $247,954
