More eSports sector Conflict Of Interest Cases

POLISH COMPANY ACCUSED OF A CONFLICT OF E-SPORTS INTEREST

Companies should not own competitive professional teams and betting-promotional websites simultaneously.

Another conflict of interest allegation has surfaced in the eSports sector, linking promotional and until recently skin-betting site CSGOLounge with competitive professional eSports Counter Strike team Virtus.pro with the same Poland-based owner.

The publication esportsobserver.com uncovered the relationships after investigating company filings  in Poland, revealing that CSGOLounge and the Virtus.pro team are 90 percent owned by the same company – Polish registered ESForce Holdings, a company previously titled….Virtus.pro Group.

The publication also revealed that ESForce has media rights links to the Ukrainian eSports team Na’Vi, along with a slew of other eSports related websites, content developers and tournament organisers.

Counter strike rules expressly forbid such business relationships on grounds of fair play, integrity and the possibility of a conflict of interest.
