Ryan Fair has emerged as the chip leader at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Festa al Lago.

The player put in a strong performance at Bellagio in Las Vegas, finishing with 1,331,000 chips, more than 100,000 ahead of Will Mietz, who occupies second place in the chip-rankings.

Fair took the vast majority of starting chip-leader Daniel Negreanu's stack with a set of sevens and then proceeded to claim 400,000 from the then chip-leader Will Mietz without even seeing the flop.

Other players who have finished strongly are French player Bertrand Grospellier, who lies in third with 1,151,000 and Joe Sebok who has 1,100,000.

Nenad Medic looks like he will continue his deep run, finished just shy of one million chips.

Fair has cashed on five occasions in major competitions, his best finish to date coming in the third event of the World Series of Poker this year where he just missed out on the final table.

The year before he managed to amass over $35,000 at the WSOP, the majority of this was also won in the third event.
