75 poker satellite seats were snapped up through three separate Mega Satellites that all guaranteed 25 poker seats apiece at 17:00, 19:00 and 21:00 GMT, while 6 more entries were awarded via a regular $530 buy-in poker satellite that rounded off the day’s qualifying at 23:00.

Sunday, 25 November made partypoker history as the 1,574 total entries resulted in $7,870,000 worth of player buy-ins to make Day 1A the poker site’s biggest ever prizepool for a single flight. The poker site collected 39.4% of its record $20,000,000 guaranteed prize pool through player buy-ins in a single day, with four further Day 1 flights still to take place.

Heading the pack after Day 1A is Team partypoker’s own Philipp Gruissem, taking 26,865,379 in chips through to Day 2, which kicks off at 19:00 on Tuesday, 4 December. Gruissem enjoys a lead of more than 2,700,000 over second place “hi_all”, while well-known UK player, Chris Moorman occupies 10th place on 15,374,484.

Of the 1,574 entries from Day 1A, 230 players made it through unscathed to seal their passage to Day 2 including three other members of Team partypoker. Anatoly “NL_Profit” Filatov, the MILLIONS Russia Main Event champion, bagged an 8,041,113 stack, Josip “JozinhoPP” Simunic ended the night with 4,786,977 chips, while Joao “joaosimaobh” Simao goes into Day 2 armed with 4,011,108 in chips.

Like Anatoly Filatov, MILLIONS Germany champion, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom remains in the hunt for his second MILLIONS title of the year, the Swede currently in 110th place on a 6.3m-strong stack. Two more days of Mega Satellites continue to take centre stage from today before Day 1B shuffles up on Thursday, 29 November at 19:00, the second of five opening flights.

The winner is guaranteed to receive a record-breaking $2,500,000, while the top 4 finishers will all emerge as millionaires.
