Facebook chosen as the ideal platform for Fresh Deck Poker
 
There's a new entrant in the social gaming poker sector following the launch of Fresh Deck Poker on the Facebook freemium platform by US developer Idle Games, reports Inside Social Games.
 
The new product is suitable for both online and mobile channels, and will easily convert to real-money operation in the event of US legalization, the report notes.
 
In order to prepare for this eventuality, a separate company called Idle Gaming has been created to deal with legal issues and licensing fees that may accompany online poker legalization.
 
VP of Product Stuart Lewis-Smith, a 15-year e-gaming veteran, was recruited to help Idle Gaming prepare for real money action, and has had the game’s random number generator certified by Technical Systems Testing, along with supervising the initial setup of poker tournaments: These are at present free to enter but offer substantial cash prizes to winners.
 
Fresh Deck Poker incorporates Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) technology and allows users to drop in and out of poker sessions, providing the option to play different types of poker like ring games, sit ‘n go’s and multi-table tournaments. It is powered by a proprietary software engine that places players based on open seats at a table and the skill levels of other players, athough users can also manually browse tables should they wish so to do.
