The Italian Revenue Agency and the Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) are requesting details of earnings and profits from Italian poker professionals.
 
Details of winnings, sponsorships, income from image rights including royalties and transfers of funds from abroad have been requested by the taxman in a communication to poker players.
 
All income earned by Italian professionals on online websites run by foreign operators has to be declared to the Italian authorities and is subject to personal income tax without any allowable deductions for expenses.
