Jack Wild Casino Launched

Saturday January 12, 2013 : LOCUS GAMING DEBUTS FIRST PRODUCT

But don't confuse Jack Wild Casino with Wild Jack Casino

Our readers will recall last year's report on the formation of the Isle of Man-licensed Locus Gaming, a mobile-focused online casino developer founded by industry veterans Ed Andrewes (,ormerly of Ladbrokes, and Mick dAncona, former technical director of GCD Solutions.

At the time the duo promised the launch of the company's first mobile product early in 2013, and they have delivered on that undertaking this week, launching Jack Wild Casino.

It is perhaps unfortunate that the title is so similar to that of the well-established Microgaming-powered online casino Wild Jack Casino, a 400-game outfit that also offers mobile gambling. That could lead to confusion, but was presumably taken into account by these experienced online gambling executives.

That aside, the Locus offering can be played on smartphones and tablets, and includes slot games, roulette and blackjack, although there have reportedly been some minor teething problems on presentation, probably the result of the plethora of mobile platforms available to players.

Payment processing is performed by Datacash.

The instant-play slot titles from Realistic Gaming include Slots and Ladders, Double Bubble, Tutankhamun, Pentagram, Sunset Reels and Over the Rainbow.

Future plans include bringing on Flash and HTML5 technology games from top suppliers Sheriff Gaming, NYX, NextGen and Microgaming.

The mobile sector has been good for most operators, with researcher H2 Gaming Capital estimating that the total gross win (i.e. money staked, less customer winnings) from mobile gaming across all gambling products was GBP 2.29 billion in 2011, forecasting it would rise to GBP 3.9 billion by 2015.

Breaking the UK market numbers out of this total, it is forecast to grow from 2010's GBP 202 million to GBP 488 million by 2015… and that excludes lottery and sports betting.
