Joe Barton Speaks About Online Poker Solution

Wednesday June 26,2013 : TEXAS CONGRESSMAN SPEAKS ON A FEDERAL ONLINE POKER SOLUTION

Legalisation is a "when", not an "if" says Joe Barton

Despite the prior introduction of a more comprehensive online gambling legalization bill in Congress by Rep. Peter King this year, a new initiative is about to be launched by Texas Republican Congressman Joe Barton.

The name will be familiar – Barton has already tried – and failed – to get an online poker only legalization bill through Congress, and he is back for a second attempt.

Barton talks about his new bill and the need for federal legalization of online poker here this week:

A confident Congressman predicts that federal legalization – at least for online poker – is a "when" and not an "if" proposition, and urges poker fans to be patient whilst the Congressional initiative progresses.

With the King bill offering a wider perspective and choice, and several states doing their own thing anyway, it remains to be seen whether Barton's confidence has again been misplaced.

So far there is little evidence that the much-publicised new federal bill that Sen. Harry Reid is reportedly again working on is about to make an entrance.
