NHL Odds : Leafs Host Blue Jackets

NHL Odds: Leafs Face Jackets Without JVR

The Toronto Maple Leafs still have a lot of work to do if they're going to make the playoffs, but at least they're on the right track. After starting the regular season with just two wins in their first 14 games, the Maple Leafs have gone 14-9-3 over the past two months, making them a profitable pick against the puck line at 26-14 ATS (+3.86 betting units).

Toronto will get a crack at the last-place team in the NHL this Wednesday (7 PM ET, TSN) when the Columbus Blue Jackets come to town. The Blue Jackets are just 15-24-4 SU and 22-21 ATS for a deficit of 9.53 units on the puck line.

Both their top two goalies are on the shelf, although it's believed at press time that Sergei Bobrovsky (.916 save percentage) will be able to return from his groin injury for Wednesday's game.

The Leafs have been much stronger with James Reimer (.937 SV%) in net, but Jonathan Bernier (.896 SV%) is likely to get the nod on Wednesday. Meanwhile, top point-scorer James van Riemsdyk (14 goals, 15 assists) will miss the next six to eight weeks for Toronto after breaking his left foot.
