Cake Poker Manager Lee Jones Quits

Posted by Lenny S On 12/29/10 : Falling out with management over corporate strategy?

It appears from posts made recently at the top poker forum 2+2 that Cake Poker Network's card room manager, Lee Jones has resigned with immediate effect.

In a rather brusque posting this week, Jones noted: “This is a brief announcement to let you know that, as of yesterday, I have resigned my position at Cake Poker and will not be making any further posts here.

"Their management has made some strategic decisions with which I’m not comfortable.

“Please direct any questions or concerns to the Cake support staff; they are top-notch people.”

The news comes on the heels of reports that Cake's director of tournaments, Serge Ravitch, has also left the network.  Ravitch is perhaps better known for his sterling detective work in past years in exposing the Absolute Poker cheating scandals.

Ravitch used the 2+2 forum to voice support for Jones, saying that he was leaving Cake for the same reasons.

Jones, who has extensive industry experience with majors like Pokerstars and Cardrunners, later told Poker News Daily, where he is a columnist, that he would be staying in the industry and was currently considering other employment options.
