Another record setting month in revenue reported

Macau's gaming revenues show no sign of slowing down according to data released by the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau despite the Government’s attempts at encouraging a measured pace of growth.

The former Portuguese enclave's gaming revenues for the month of May 2011 were 24.31 billion patacas ($3 billion) representing a record growth of 42.4 percent compared to May 2010 and a 19 percent increase from its last monthly record in April 2011 of 20.51 billion patacas.

The opening of the Galaxy Macau, a seven day national holiday and an unabating demand from Chinese mainland punters are said to have contributed to the record results.
