Macau Revenue Decline in June 2016

MACAU NUMBERS SLIP AGAIN

8.5 percent decline in revenue in June 2016.

The Macau regulators, always quick off the mark with their gambling statistics, have revealed that Macau revenues continued to decline year-on-year in June 2016, falling 8.5 percent to 15.9 billion patacas ($1.99 billion).

The decline was largely in line with analysts predictions of a 5 to 12 percent drop…the 25th consecutive month in which declines have occurred following the Chinese central government crackdown on corruption and ostentatious spending, and a slowing Chinese economy.

Monthly revenues have shrunk by half in the last two years and hit lows unseen in over five years.
