JUTTLESTAD TAKES 2012 WPT LUCKY HEARTS POKER OPEN

02/19/2012 : Focus on University interview becomes a hefty pay day

Florida-native Matt Juttlestad has taken down the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open tournament title and a prize purse of $268 444.

The tournament marks Juttlestad's first after a year-long hiatus from poker, only entering because he happened to be in Miami interviewing for a place at Florida Atlantic University.

Going into heads-up play the Florida student held a commanding chip lead of 6.82 million against amateur Gigi Gagne's 2.03 million and emerged victorious.

Although missing out on the possibility of becoming the first woman to win an Open WPT title, Gagne's second place prize of $158 194 marks her largest career score to date.

The final table ended up:

1          Matt Juttelstad   $268 444
2          Gigi Gagne        $158 194
3          Uri Kadosh        $105 463
4          Sharon Levin      $73 344
5          Todd Jacobson  $54 649
6          Keith Ferrera     $42 185
