Friday February 15,2013 : THE HEALTH LOTTERY AD ACCOUNT GOES TO MEDIACOM

Agency already handles other Desmond companies

The UK-based The Health Lottery has selected MediaCom to handle its GBP 21 million media planning and buying account, reports Campaignlive.

Mediacom already handles the advertising affairs of Northern and Shell, the parent company associated with The Health Lottery owner, Richard Desmond.

The switch in agencies, which was effected without the usual competitive pitch processes, comes after unconfirmed reports that Walker Media resigned the account last year.

Campaignlive reports that since its GBP 20 million launch THL has used sister media companies, such as the Daily Express and Channel 5, for much of its marketing.

In July 2012, The Health Lottery hired McCann Manchester to help grow the brand by developing creative work for TV and press under the strapline: "Share the love."
