Dorey Captures Chip Lead After MPNPT Bratislava Day 1b Triples 1a Field Size. The second flight of the €550 MPN Poker Tour Bratislava Main Event is in the bag, and so are the chips of 97 players who will be returning along with the 26 Day 1a survivors to fight to the money and beyond today.
While the total prize pool and payouts are yet to be announced (late registration is open until the start of Day 2 at 13:00), the €150,000 guarantee has been surpassed with room to spare, as a bumper 232-runner field turned out for Day 1b.
In the lead overall after both flights is 1b’s chip leader Will Dorey, who progresses with 242,200 chips, his stack just surpassing the 233,000 of Day 1a’s top stack Danijel Kucursky. Other notable players returning for Day 2 are Betsafe Pro Monika ‘HeyMonia’ Zukowicz (60,500), Mantas Urbonas (150,400), Irish Open champion Ian Simpson (151,100) and Keimo Suominen, last year’s MPNPT Tallinn winner (106,200).
For any Main Event qualifiers from either Paf or the Betsson Group, a last-longer prize is still in the mix, regardless of overall finishing position, as the last player standing from both sets of online satellite winners will receive a package to the next MPNPT stop (worth €1,500).
Another two €1,500 packages – good for either the MPNPT or Cash Game Festival, according to players’ preference – are up for grabs on 32Red at 19:00 GMT on Saturday 28th April. This €5,000 online poker freeroll is open to all and will award €2,000 in cash prizes as well as the free packages.
Alongside the Cash Game Festival, conveniently located in the same building, MPNPT side events continue tonight with the €150 Slovakia Poker Cup, a two-day event, which online package winners also won entry to, starting at 18:00. On the opposite end of the patience spectrum, MPNPT is also offering a €40 All-in or Fold tournament (21:00).
