Bostock Leads the Final 13 at MPNPT Sunny Beach. The MPN Poker Tour Sunny Beach is getting down to the business end now, with just 13 players remaining in contention for the trophy. Grosvenor Poker qualifier Robert Bostock leads the field going into the final day on 2,343,000. Also of particular note is Iva Lazarova, whose roller coaster of a day saw her go from average to big stack, to a single big blind on the bubble, and then back to big stack. She’s currently on a roughly average 501,000.
The €500 + €50 NLH MPNPT Sunny Beach Main Event at the Platinum Casino in Bulgaria attracted a total of 320 entries over two start days, generating a prize pool of €155,200 with 35 places paying out and a top prize of €35,000.
Day 2 saw the 124 survivors from Day 1a and 1b coalesce into a single field, along with six brave souls who took advantage of the opportunity for super-late registration right before the start of Day 2. Last-minute registrants included MPNPT Tallinn champion Keimo Suominen and MPNPT Malta 14th place finisher Teemu Leppälanti, although neither of them progressed as far as the money.
The bubble burst around seven hours into play, when Lithuanian player Paulius Sabaliauskas called all in for his last chip in the big blind to a raise from Plamen Todorov. Sabaliauskas’ J-8 was no good against Todorov’s aces and Sabaliauskas bubbled in 36th place – the unluckiest spot. No cash for Sabaliauskas; however, he was awarded a free seat to the €1 million guaranteed MPNPT Malta stop in October by way of consolation, so it wasn’t all bad.
Yesterday also saw the MPNPT Platinum Poker Cup draw more than 180 entries, everyone hoping to win the €6,350 first prize, along with a coveted MPNPT trophy to match that of Ivan Dryanovski, who took down the MPNPT Super Knockout event for €2,204 on Friday night.
Today our final 13 Main Event players will first be whittling themselves down to a final table, and thereafter they will battle it out for the title in front of your very eyes as the whole final day is streamed live on Twitch and on Facebook from 2.30pm, hole cards and all. You can also follow all the action live on the MPNPT blog, right from the shuffle-up-and-deal at 2pm.
