Greek media hints at an unusual alliance
 
Greek gambling monopoly OPAP has surprised industry observers with the possibility of an alliance between itself, Intralot, Lottomatica and its subsidiary GTech for the exclusive licence to operate State Lotteries according to unnamed sources in a report carried by Capital.gr.
 
Historically fierce competitors with disputes in the past, the joint venture would join the forces of some of the biggest technology firms in the industry.
 
Candidates invited to apply for a licence to operate and manage terrestrial State Lotteries that include the National Lottery, Popular Lottery, European Lottery, Scratch Card, Housing Lottery, the New Year Lottery and future lottery launches will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday).
