Irish land and online gambling group the first to stream horse racing from Latin America

Paddy Power has become the first leading online bookmaker to stream horse racing from Latin America in an agreement with SIS.

SIS launched the evening service on its SIS+ betting shop channel recently and has around 1,200 sites showing racing from countries including Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, a spokesman revealed earlier this week.

Now, after trialling the service, which comprises of almost 4,000 races a year, Paddy Power is offering a live streaming service to its digital customers via its website Paddy Power.com.

Typically, the shop service runs up to 21.30, with five-seven races but, due to the time difference, online punters can continue watching and betting up to midnight with an average of 12 races.

Starting times vary between 18.00 and 20.00 depending on the country. Racing comes from Valparaiso, Hipodromo Chile and Club Hipico Santiago racetracks in Chile; La Plata and San Isidro in Argentina; and Maronas in Uruguay.

Brent Dolan, SIS director of operations, said: “There has been a great response to Latin American racing, both in the shops and now online. We’re always looking for ways to add quality thoroughbred horse racing and a further step towards that is providing this live stream.

“We’re delighted to be working with Paddy Power who have provided valuable feedback in helping us shape the service. They were using the service across their retail estate and online was a logical next step for them.”

SIS is also making available racing from Germany as a live stream, along with racing from Dubai, and greyhound racing including Shelbourne Park and Racing Post Greyhound TV. SIS is also working with a number of bookmakers to provide industry fixed odds prices for the product.
