OPAP Acquires Payzone

Monday September 1,2014 : OPAP ACQUIRES PAYZONE HELLAS
 
Now owns largest network of payment terminals in Greece
 
OPAP susbsidiary OPAP Investments has coughed up Euro 7.75 million for a 90 percent stake in the Payzone Group, the largest mobile phone top-up network in Greece with over 11000 POS terminals.
 
Payzone currently processes around 30 million transactions annually and is the only independent organisation in Greece other than banks to provide these services.
 
Following the acquisition, Payzone Hellas will allow the recharge of OPAP cards used to make deposits for online betting and VLT's, providing OPAP increased sales independence at traditional betting outlets.
