Phil Ivey down $626,000 in online high stakes action.
 
It's been a bad week at the online high stakes tables for international poker ace Phil ‘Polarizing’ Ivey, who achieved the dubious honour of biggest loser, according to the nosebleed games monitor High Stakes Data Base.
 
Ivey returned to the virtual tables this week after a short absence and suffered a reversal of his impressive November run of wins by dropping $626,000 over the 7 days.
 
Ivey made a promising start, winning around $138,000, but it all went downhill from there as the famous professional was hammered by players like Germany's "Saniker" – the earlier source of Ivey's good fortune. Ivey managed a brief recovery but lost it again, to end the week with a deficit of $626,000.
 
Another top internet nosebleed pro, Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, also reappeared online after a short hiatus and, following a promising early start, found himself on the week's negative list with a loss of $200,000.
 
The other side of the coin saw ‘Saniker' acclaimed the biggest winner over the week with a profit of $623,000 – much of it courtesy of the unfortunate Ivey.
 
US player Cort ‘thecortster’ Kibler-Melby had an up-and-down sort of week but finished strongly in the black ink on $83,500…again largely thanks to wins against Ivey, whilst player ‘AthaCliath' ended the seven day period up $368,000, an impressive performance, given the quality of high stakes players online.
