Philippines E-gaming Growing

PHILIPPINES E-GAMING STILL PROGRESSING DESPITE PRESIDENTIAL DISRUPTION

Pagcor report shows that revenue generated from e-gaming sites was PHP5.57 billion, up slightly year-on-year despite presidential licensing mayhem.

The latest quarterly report from the Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation regulator shows that the e-gaming sector managed to achieve a slight year-on-year improvement, remarkable considering the licensing suspensions and general mayhem caused by the nations relatively new maverick president, Rodrigo Duterte

Revenue generated from e-gaming sites in Q3-2016 was PHP5.57 billion, up from the PHP5.32 billion in the comparative period last year.

The vertical continues to deliver a lower contribution to the overall total revenue than the nations land casino sector, where revenue rose to PHP34.16 billion, compared with PHP30.41 billion a year earlier.

Overall, total gambling revenue rose 11.2 percent y-o-y to PHP39.74 billion ($807.2 million), led by higher revenue from casinos in Entertainment City.
