Pitbull Poker Owner Goes Underground

12/6/09 – The furore surrounding the failure of Pitbull Poker.com, with a slew of stories of players losing their winnings and tales of attempts to remove assets from a Costa Rica premises overnight  seems to have quietened down, but one tenacious player and affiliate marketer is not giving up.

Whilst the hubbub on major online poker message boards like 2plus2 may have calmed down, poster ‘JC Hawk' this week reiterated his determination to continue the pursuit of alleged owner Kevin Baranowski to recover monies he says are now long overdue.

It is not clear what happened after the Costa Rica police were called by Pitbull employees seeking to protect their rights to severance packages earlier this year, when it was claimed that a late night attempt had been made to remove hardware assets from the Pitbull offices.

There were reports that the government had been asked to keep Baranowski in-country until the financial issues surrounding the Pitbull failure had been resolved, but it now appears that Baranowski successfully departed Costa Rica for parts unknown – perhaps Canada – where he is believed to be lying low.

That is unlikely to help him, as ‘JC Hawk' has proved in the past that he is prepared to go to the expense of hiring private investigators to track down his man and recover what he claims is due to him – by some reports more than $100 000.

This week Hawk told Poker News Daily: "We are now hunting Mr. Baronowsky and will find him, he needs to answer a few questions face to face. This will be done soon. His party days with my money are over.”

Suggestions on 2plus2 that the Pitbull threads be closed have rightly met with some opposition – in these cases it is necessary to warn others of the perils of dealing with certain personalities.
