Pokerroom Brand making a Comback

01/05/2012 : Pioneer online poker brand resurfaces
Rumours that surfaced towards the end of last month concerning the relaunch of one of the pioneer online poker brands Poker Room have been confirmed.
Following an absence of three years, the Bwin brand has opened its virtual doors again, its resurrection apparently initiated as a side project by Stockholm employees reports PokerFuse.
Poker became a popular and powerful brand following its original launch in 1999 but suffered when parent network Ongame exited the U.S. market following the passage of the UIGEA in 2006, eventually closing down in 2009 and transferring its playerbase to Bwin.
Industry observers speculate that the resurrected online poker room may form part of a planned re-entry into the U.S. market by Digital following a recently formed alliance with MGM and Boyd Gaming or may have been reintroduced to increase the attractiveness of the Ongame network, which the company has up for sale.
