POKERSTARS HIRES TOP COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Sunday July 10,2011 : Social networking included in communications plan

The critical need for clear and professionally managed communications in today's often complicated and economically challenging business world has been recognised by the world's biggest online poker provider, Pokerstars,  with the appointment of a top communicator to head up its corporate communications and public relations divisions.

Eric Hollreiser will lead the company's integrated communications efforts around the world, with responsibilities that include the execution of corporate communications, internal communications, public relations and corporate social responsibility, and coveying the company's messages via social media and talent communications.

Hollreiser is a former journalist and a veteran communications professional who has been a senior executive in media, entertainment and technology companies, including Microsoft Corp., the Walt Disney Company and Activision. He has also been an agency executive at Tierney Communications and was a co-founder of T2 Group, and brings a mix of entrepreneurial flair, Fortune 100 strategic communications experience and savvy business acumen to PokerStars' senior management team, a company spokesman said this week.

Hollreiser was hired following a six-month international search conducted by a leading executive search firm. He has been consulting with the company over recent months and has provided invaluable counsel and strong leadership for the company's communications – especially important in navigating the troubled waters following Black Friday.
