Pokerstars Cancells High Stakes Games

Wednesday July 25,2012 : CANCELLATION OF HIGH STAKES GAMES AT POKERSTARS HAS LITTLE IMPACT (Update)

Overall traffic remains largely unaffected

The latest weekly report by independent online poker monitor Pokerscout notes that the recent removal of high stakes cash game tables from Pokerstars has had a minimal impact on the poker operator, attracting a mere 0.6 percent of total players and having little effect on traffic to the site.

It appeared to be a relatively quiet week, with an overall increase in traffic of just 0.1 percent, and the top three sites remaining unchanged at Pokerstars with a 24-hour average cash player count of 20,400; iPoker 2,700 and Party Poker 2,500…the rest of the field trailing at least 700 players short of the lowest leader.

The year-on-year stats continue to depress –  overall traffic down 22 percent, with even the three market leaders showing very substantial declines – Pokerstars down 26 percent; iPoker down 36 percent; and Party Poker down 44 percent.
