POKERSTARS LAUNCH KNOCKOUT POKER

Easy to pick up and play, poker giant says, in bid to attract new audience.

Amaya Inc.-owned online poker giant PokerStars has launched its exclusive online Knockout Poker tournament format.

Supported by a global marketing campaign, PokerStars Knockout Poker splits prize money 50/50.  50 percent goes to the normal prize pool and the other 50 percent to “knockouts” in which players earn a share each time they eliminate an opponent.

“The launch is part of a broad-based strategy to grow poker by introducing the game to new audiences, and by introducing innovative new formats of the game,” a press statement reads.
