POKERSTARS TO REPEAT LADS NIGHT IN FOR CHARITY
Event will support Prostate Cancer U.K.
Pokerstars has announced that it is to repeat its charity for cancer Lads Night In again to support the mens health charity, Prostate Cancer U.K.
The annual one-night poker event bringing friends together at home to help fight prostate cancer, is scheduled for Friday, 21 October.
Lads Night In is calling on men and women of all ages to organise an evening in, play cards, and have a laugh while taking the opportunity to raise money and awareness for a very worthy cause.
Following on from the success of last years at-home events and funds raised, where over 5,400 people took part and GBP 114,000 was donated, Pokerstars and Prostate Cancer UK are asking for poker fans to spread the word, sign up and join in.
A special Lads Night In pack, including a deck of cards, a dealer button and the rules of poker for anyone unfamiliar of them, will be sent to those who register. To sign up and run a Lads Night In people can visit the Prostate Cancer U.K. website.
Sue Hammett, head of corporate giving at Rational Group said: "PokerStars are delighted to once again be partnering with Prostate Cancer U.K. for the second annual Lads Night In. One man dies every hour in the U.K. from this deadly disease and PokerStars want to help change that. So please, put the date in your diary, get your friends round and get ready to hold a Lads Night In to remember."
Funds raised across the country will go towards ground-breaking research that could lead to earlier diagnosis and better treatments, as well as much-needed support services.
