#pokerstars now raise it Series

POKERSTARS VIDEO MARKETING A BIG HIT

Online poker companys "Raise It" video social networking campaign featuring top football stars attracts a significant audience.

Pokerstars has scored a major hit with its "now raise it" series of one-upmanship video adverts starring international sports personalities that include Neymar Jnr and Ronaldo, according to a statement from the company Thursday.

The adverts have gone viral on the Internet, creating a massive social networking publicity boost for the campaign, with the first four vids in the series attracting over 19 million views, 100,000 shares and over a million likes on Facebook.

The sportsmen fronting the campaign share trick shot videos with their followers, branded with the new PokerStars website, NowRaiseIt.com.

Since the website has launched, videos from other sports celebrities have been uploaded, along with those from PokerStars poker players, and the general public. Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia, and pros Liv Boeree, Vanessa Selbst, and Jason Mercier have all recorded videos for the campaign.

Simon Tilbury, associate director of advertising for PokerStars, said in a statement:

"The #raiseit campaign encourages individuals to up the stakes by outsmarting a friend, a hero, or even a stranger. With #raiseit Neymar Jr and Ronaldo are essentially playing poker, but without the chips and cards. Poker skills transcend to many areas of life as reaching any personal goal takes patience, focus, determination and courage.

"We’re used to seeing poker players #raiseit on the felt, but the essence can be applied to any scenario or talent. We are extremely pleased with the huge number of views, high engagement scores and internet responses to the videos so far and look forward to seeing this continue."
