Pokerstars to match the $100,000 raised in just 48 hours

Saturday November 16 ,2013 :  ONLINE POKER COMPANY RAISES AID FUNDS FOR PHILIPPINES

Pokerstars to match the $100,000 raised in just 48 hours.

Kudos to online poker company Pokerstars, which reacted remarkably quickly in setting up fund-raising efforts for the victims of the massively destructive Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

In just 48 hours the company's Helping Hands program facilitated the donation from players of $100,000, which Pokerstars will match as promised.

The Rational Group, which owns Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker, opened several channels in its software client to make it easy for charitable players to send in donations. The matching offer from the group was widely publicised on social media.

On Friday Rational tweeted: "Thank you! Over $100,000 has been raised for #Haiyan victims, an amount we'll double."

The company has reminded players that help is still urgently needed, and that it will continue to match donations dollar-for-dollar.
