PokerTableRatings Opt In Service

4/23/2012 : PTR OPT-IN SERVICE FOR POKER PLAYERS (Update)

PokerStars action signals a change in data-mining company's direction

Data mining company PokerTableRatings' (PTR) recent legal run-in with PokerStars  has "forced the company to re-evaluate its place in the market" and has prompted the company to prioritise what it details as an Opt-In service it says has been in development for some time.

A statement released by the company on its corporate blog outlines the planned initiative while responding to PokerStars' Lee Jones comments to online poker website PokerFuse saying: “Lee Jones recently stated that players who wish to share their results should have that right, as well as the right to privacy if they so choose.  We think we can work within this stipulation.”

According to the release, PTR's latest move stems from a desire to change the perception held by an influential segment of the industry that includes both players and operators.  The planned service "signals a dramatic change to PTR's operation" the company said but remains several months away from launch.
