NO PRIVATISATION FOR ONTARIO LOTTERY

NO PRIVATISATION FOR ONTARIO LOTTERY

RFP cancelled as provincial government changes its mind.

The privatisation of the Ontario provincial lottery will not go ahead despite proposals by major companies like IGT-GTech, Scientific Games and Rogers Communications submitted in response to the provincial government’s 2014 Request for Proposals.

On Friday the government advised that having completed its due diligence process it has concluded that “the selection of a single service provider would not provide sufficient value for the province” and has accordingly withdrawn the RFP.

The government has instead decided to modernize the operation and will “seek to enhance our capabilities in technology and innovations through partnerships with the private sector.”
