IGT Poker Network Dips 8 Percent On Purple Lounge Closure

Poker monitor records dip in average cash game players
 
PokerScout reports a dip in the IGT Poker Network (formerly Entraction) of 8 percent which it attributes to the suspension of Media Corp's Purple Lounge operation.
 
The independent poker monitor reported 800 average cash game players on the network, down from 1200 players monitored in February.
 
Other notable year-over-year changes reported include its top three networks listed as PokerStars up 11 percent (the comparison affected by the introduction of Zoom Poker in March 2012), iPoker Network – down 4 percent and PartyPoker, also down 13 percent.
 
Notable gainers include 888poker – 38 percent, Winamax.fr – 30 percent and the Merge Gaming Network – 6 percent.
 
Notable decliners list Full Tilt Poker – 100 percent, Cereus Network – 99 percent, and the International Poker Network – 49 percent.
 
Small but interesting reports the Chico Poker Network (formerly Action Poker Network) up 277 percent and Everleaf Gaming Network down 45 percent.
 
According to PokerScout's ACES indicator, year-over-year the global online poker market (ex-Italy) has decreased by 20 percent in the past year.
