Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars have proved the outstanding commercial success of the high speed poker concept with their Rush and Zoom products , and now Unibet has entered the field with Relax Poker's Fast Poker product.
 
The major European internet gambling group announced the launch of the new offering this week, giving cash game players the choice of sitting at tables where players are whisked away to a new table to face fresh opponents when a hand is folded or completed.
 
This playing format substantially speeds up the action, and is so popular that it has recently been accounting for 25 percent of Pokerstars' cash game activity.
 
Perhaps realising that high speed poker is shaping up to be a very competitive field from an operator perspective, Unibet is promoting its launch of the genre with a slew of bonus offers.
 
In related news, the online poker information site Pokerfuse reports that Pokerstars may be gearing up to take the high speed poker concept to new heights.
 
The site reports that Steve Day, poker room manager at ‘Stars, has hinted that the poker giant is seriously considering replacing all high-stakes games with Zoom Poker tables.
 
“In the long run, [PokerStars is] leaning very heavily towards possibly going Zoom-only for high-stakes games,” he told Pokerfuse. “That’s a very real possibility at this point.”
