Rob Dyer quits Zynga

Sunday June 30,2013 : ANOTHER ZYNGA EXEC HITS THE ROAD

VP in charge of partner publishing departs

The exodus of senior managers from San Francisco social games developer Zynga has not yet ended, according to local media reports, which reveal that the company's vice president of partner publishing, Rob Dyer is the latest to leave the building.

With much fanfare, Dyer joined the company in October 2011, tasked with convincing external game developers to publish their games on Zynga’s platform for social gaming, thus enabling smaller game developers to reach Zynga’s audience of over 246 million monthly active users.

Dyer was no stranger to the field, having discharged similar responsibilities as senior vice president of third-party relations for Sony Computer Entertainment America, where he promoted console games.

Back then, Dyer said that developers would be able to tap Zynga’s ability to cross-promote games across its network, and use the company's technology for hosting games on its zCloud data centre infrastructure, custom-built to run games as quickly as possible.

Dyer's future plans are not yet clear.
