Sky Poker to Offer Rakeback

Wednesday April 10,2013 :  RAKEBACK INSTEAD OF LOYALTY POINTS AT SKY POKER (Update)

May 1 the start date for new system

Sky Poker has confirmed earlier speculation  that it is to modify its loyalty program, changing from a cash-for-points system to automatic rakeback rewards for VIP players.

The new program will be implemented from May 1st this year, with players on the former system switched automatically to the new.

A Sky Poker spokesman said this week that players will be assessed on the basis of the points earned in a calendar month, with those who receive more than 10,000 points granted membership of a special club in which rewards take the form of rakeback.

Points are earned on the basis of 6 points to every GBP 1 of rake at the tables.

Rakeback rewards on the VIP program can vary on a sliding scale from 20 percent on 20,000 points right up to 30 percent on 30,000 points, calculated on the number of points earned each month.

Some top players are already claiming that for them the new system represents a reduction in perks, pointing out that under the current system an active player garnering 50,000 points or more a month could earn up to 65 percent in rakeback.
