Sportradar closer to becoming a "one-stop-shop" provider following acquisition
Sports and betting-related data supplier Sportradar has become a majority shareholder in Sports Statistics and Information Systems Ltd (SportStat), a UK based sports data provider that is an official data collection partner to the International Rugby Board, Rugby World Cup, World Snooker, the Professional Darts Corporation, and other rugby union and league clubs.
Sportradar said the acquisition represents a key milestone in the execution of its “one-stop-shop” provider strategy. The investment in SportStat will support the continued expansion of sports coverage and allow Sportradar to cover even more games in real-time in the near future.
Carsten Koerl, group chief executive officer, Sportradar, said: “Having worked in partnership with the governing bodies of rugby union, darts and snooker for many years, SportStat are able to supply top class fast data live from the venue. Therefore, SportStat’s product portfolio is the perfect complement to our own Live Betting and media Services.
