Blames iPoker split for closure
 
A message posted on Sun Poker website informs players that owner Peak Interactive N.V. has closed Sun Pokers virtual doors with immediate effect citing the iPoker Network split and its placing on what is viewed as the bottom tier as the reason for its closure after ten years in the business.
 
Peak Interactive said it will narrow its focus on its flagship Curacao-licenced internet casino operation Omni Casino where all Sun Poker accounts, player balances and loyalty points have been transferred.
 
The message reads:
 
"We pride ourselves on offering the best services and due to changes made on the iPoker network in September 2012, we could no longer provide our valued members the poker experience they have come to know and enjoy at SunPoker. We thank you for over 10 years of ‘fun in the sun'."
