Betway In Deal WIth Total Warrior

Friday August 2,2013 : BETWAY TO SPONSOR ENDURANCE SPORTS EVENT

Deal signed with Total Warrior

Online gambling operator Betway has signed a sponsorship deal with endurance sports company Total Warrior ahead of the mud runner event taking place this weekend in Cumbria, England.

The challenging event will see 5,000 competitors tackle the Total Warrior course over the weekend.

The Total Warrior Mud Run will form an integral part of Betway’s line-up of live engagement events this year, taking the brand offline to engage with audiences of ultra-competitive, fun-seeking individuals that share Betway’s passion for sports and competition.

The betting firm has planned other events this summer at high profile mud-runner events, to help drive brand awareness and traffic to its sports betting website.

Total Warrior tests a participant’s overall fitness and mental determination over either 10 km, twice as long as the average obstacle event, or 10 miles which is four times as long. The course contains five river crossings and up to 25 specially designed obstacles, including: The Human BBQ, where competitors dash through four foot flames; Grand National, where they try to scale seven foot high walls and The Shocker – where they run or crawl through a series of electrified wires.

Betway is creating a dedicated stand at the event, featuring a stretching area with professional trainers available to provide expert advice on how best to limber up for the race.

Mud runner participants will also be able to capture their race face at the Betway Photo Wall, showing friends and sponsors that they are ready and hungry to conquer the course – with photographs shared via Betway’s Facebook page.

The Betway team will also be running a prize draw on Facebook as part of the event.

Bob Dutnall, executive director at Betway, said: “We feel this is a fantastic opportunity to engage with our audience of challenge-hungry individuals and look forward to seeing how Warriors tackle the course on the day.”

Last year, approximately four per cent of the 4,000 competitors attempted the ‘Super 10 Weekend,’ completing both the 10km and 10 mile races. Of the five thousand competitors taking part in 2013 approximately one thousand are drawn from the local area. In total 43 different nationalities will line up on the start line.

Total Warrior supports charities like Help for Heroes, the Great North Air Ambulance and Prostate Cancer UK.
