Senior management shuffle within William Hill

Monday April 28,2014 : WILLIAM HILL AUSTRALIAN MANAGEMENT SHUFFLE ON THE CARDS?

As bookmaker continues to seek successor for soon to retire chief executive

An article in the Sydney Morning Herald's Business Day (SMHBD) indicates an imminent senior management shuffle within William Hill Australia as chief executive Michael Sullivan and chief operating officer Anthony Waller are reportedly poised to leave the operator.

Business Day cited unnamed industry sources as saying the senior executives are likely to leave the company comprising Sportingbet, Centrebet and Tom Waterhouse while discussions take place "about the future of the leadership of the Australian operations" between William Hill and Michael Sullivan today (Monday) at Sportingbet's Sydney head office.

The development will come as a surprise to many as in a September 2013 Financial Review interview with chief executive of William Hill Ralph Topping, Topping said: "Michael [Sullivan] is going to build a great business for us here.  If Michael was in the UK he would be my number two. In managerial terms he's probably as good as I've worked with."

SMHBD said the company declined to comment.
