Pennsylvania state police have filed five charges of illegal bookmaking against a Scranton, Lackawanna County man, alleging that he acted as a "runner" collecting debt money for wagers placed earlier this year using online sports gambling website wager2020.com.

32-year-old William Schreiber is the subject of affidavits from police informants, who allege that he was involved in collecting wagering money from them on behalf of the website operator, who is outside the United States.

Prosecutors said that summons would be served on Schreiber, and that a preliminary hearing date of October 10 this year has been set. The case will be heard before District Judge Diana Malast in Plains Township.
