SUPER-SEIDEL TOPS IN BELLAGIO HIGH ROLLER POKER EVENT

In another huge win this year poker pro takes home over a million dollars

The Erik Seidel 2011 heater continued Friday afternoon at the Bellagio in Las Vegas when the veteran poker pro took down the $100,000 buy-in WPT Super High Roller event after a tough heads up tangle with Erick Lindgren.

The two went head-to-head after Daniel Negreanu was knocked out in third place, one of several big names at a final table that comprised Sam Trickett, Justin Bonomo (the chip leader at the start of final table action), Vivek Rajkumar, Randy Dorfman, Cary Katz, Ashton Griffin, and Rick Salomon.

Other top players who did not make the final table included Eugene Katchalov, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Dan Shak.

The event attracted 29 entrants despite the high buy-in, generating a $2.8 million prize pool that paid six figure checks to the last five survivors.

Seidel's payday was worth $1 092 000, while Lindgren took home $700 500 for his second placing.

The win was Seidel’s fourth of the year, and his ninth final table, pushing up his earnings for 2011 alone to $5.4 million, and his career winnings overall to around $16 million.
