WSOP FINAL TABLE: HEADS-UP DECIDED

Just past midnight, Las Vegas time, Sunday – the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event recorded its fifth casualty when the much favoured Michael Mizrachi was eliminated by a rampant Jonathan Duhamel.  Mizrachi left the table to collect his fifth placing prize money of $2,332,992. 
 
Barely half an hour and two hands later, it was Italian player Filippo Candio's fate to head for the exit after tangling with Joseph Cheong.  The Italian took home $3,092,545 for his time and trouble leaving the competition to a trio comprised of Duhamel, Racener and Cheong.
 
One of the most exciting points in the competition occurred when Duhamel and Cheong who at that time held the chip lead, came into confrontation over a pot of 95.05 million, a phenomenal new World Series of Poker record.  Duhamel won the pot, leaving him with a significant chip lead over Racener and Cheong.
 
Just before 2 a.m. local time the heads up was decided when Cheong fell to Duhamel and headed for the rail and a payout of $4,130,049.  Tournament officials called it a wrap for the night requiring the two finalists to return on Monday evening.  The heads up for the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event will therefore be between:
 
Jonathan Duhamel (23) goes into the heads-up as the chip leader on 188,950,000.  This Canadian online cash game pro hails from Montreal in Quebec.  He is the youngest player still at the table and has had some experience in live tournaments such as the 2008 European Poker Tour Prague and 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and three WSOP cashes.
 
John Racener (24), despite his youth, has become a well known name in international poker with significant wins in the WSOP, WSOP Europe and Full Tilt Cypress Classic.  He resides in Port Richey, Florida and is a respected online poker pro.  He goes into the main event with a chip count of 30,750,000.
