WSOPE Main Event Hellmuth Gets 13th Bracelet

HELLMUTH TAKES WSOPE 2012 MAIN EVENT

Earns thirteenth WSOP bracelet and final pot of Euro 1 022 376

An elated Phil Hellmuth said "I played the best poker of my life in this tournament" after emerging the victor of the Sixth World Series of Poker Europe Championship held at Hotel Majestic Barriere in Cannes, France.

Hellmuth’s win gives him the accolade of having the most accomplished WSOP career of any player in the world along with boosting his name to the top of the 2012 WSOP Player of the Year leader board.

The award of his thirteenth WSOP bracelet came a mere three months after his twelfth win in the Razz Championship held in Las Vegas.

Hellmuth dominated the WSOPE main event during the last two playing sessions which culminated in a heads-up against Ukrainian player Sergii Baranov.

“I don’t say this often, but I am truly humbled by this,” said Hellmuth. “This is one of the most prestigious titles in poker and to get this one, it’s right up there with the (1989) World Championship.”
