CBB Can The Oregon Ducks Win It All
College Basketball Betting: 3 Reasons The Oregon Ducks Can Win It All
The Oregon Ducks made the Sweet 16 of last season’s NCAA tournament. With a lot of players back this season and a quality coach on the sidelines, it’s certainly rational to think that the Ducks can get back to the Sweet 16 and then go a few steps beyond that.
1 : Dana Altman
Sport betting sites are aware that Oregon is 1-4 in the Pac-12 Conference, but if there’s a coach who can turn the ship around and get Oregon to play its best basketball at the right time of year, it’s Altman. He led Creighton to the NCAA tournament on several occasions and won multiple times in the event. Altman offers a steady hand for this team, and his expert craftsmanship last season is what got Oregon to win the Pac-12 Conference Tournament and then blow through two really good teams, Oklahoma State and Saint Louis, to make the Sweet 16.
Oregon didn’t just beat Oklahoma State and Saint Louis; the Ducks took those teams – seeded fifth and fourth, respectively – and took them to the woodshed in games that were not particularly close. The Ducks imposed their will on the Cowboys and Billikens. They played exactly how they wanted to play. They dictated tempo from start to finish. They played with great fluidity and instinctual brilliance on offense, especially against a Saint Louis team that had been one of the best defensive squads in all of college basketball last season. Altman was so deft in pushing all the right buttons and pulling all the right levers for Oregon. With that kind of a presence on the sideline, the Ducks can certainly rebound and become a team that very nearly defeated the Louisville Cardinals in the Midwest Regional semifinals last March in Indianapolis. Altman is Oregon’s foremost strength, without question.
2 – Mike Moser
The transfer from UNLV gives Oregon a quality scorer and rebounder. Moser is averaging just over 14 points per game and just under eight rebounds per game. That’s substantial production for any college basketball team, and it’s been a big reason why Oregon didn’t lose a single game in non-conference play. Moser represents an added ingredient to the roster that will give the Ducks a leg up on opponents in the weeks ahead. He’s an added source of production, and he puts in the hard yards in the paint to give this team a needed measure of toughness.
3 – Experience
In sports, the simple knowledge that you’ve been through a tough journey and have done something special in the past is important. Going through trials and knowing that you can achieve big is precisely what gives a team a lift during tough times. Oregon is struggling at the moment, but the knowledge that it made the Sweet 16 a season ago should help these players to rally around each other and make a big push toward the NCAA tournament in the next month and a half.
