$230,626 bank account booster for 65-year-ol Pennsylvanian James Moore.
 
James Moore, a 65-year-old radiologist from Pennsylvania, is the latest big winner at the World Series of Poker, taking home $230,671 and his first winners bracelet after emerging victorious from the $1,000 buy-in Super Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship event.
 
The competition concluded on Tuesday and attracted a field of 1,746, all aged 65 or more, generating a prize pool worth $1,328,400, which enabled 223 entrants to cash.
 
The field included very respected names in the game like TJ Cloutier, David Sklansky and Donnacha O’Dea, all of whom cashed but did not make the final table.
 
In the heads up Moore faced Texas amateur player Charles Barker (75) in a thrilling back-and-forth that saw Moore fight back into the lead after being down 3 to 1 in chip counts at one point.
 
Barkers very impressive effort won him a well-deserved runner-up prize of  $142,461.
