American Gaming Association spends 345k on lobbying


3/14/10 – The American Gaming Association, a trade association that represents the interests of the main land gambling firms in the United States,  spent $345 000 in the fourth quarter 2009 to lobby on issues such as online gambling and health care reform, according to a recent mandatory disclosure report.
 
The Washington D.C. based AGA also lobbied the federal government on Indian gaming, the mobile work force, the recently launched state income tax fairness and simplification act, the employee free choice act and the net operating loss carry back act, according to a form filed January 15 2010, reports Business Week.
 
Between October and December 2009, AGA lobbied Congress, the White House Office and the Department of the Interior.
 
The association's members include Las Vegas Sands Corp., MGM Mirage, Boyd Gaming Corp., International Game Technology, Harrah's Entertainment Inc., Bally Technologies Inc. and other casino operators and gambling equipment companies.
