BRITISH MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING $12 MILLION IN POKER CHIPS


Acquired and sold the poker chips over the internet
 
Briton, Ashley Mitchell, has been accused of theft of poker chips with a value of $12 million.  Mitchell allegedly acquired and sold the poker chips on the internet. In a previous court appearance, the judge heard he supposedly traded the chips for $80 334.
 
He faces three charges under the proceeds of crime act of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property, namely online poker chips, by selling them over the internet between June and September 2009. 

In addition, he faces charges of transferring the profits to his bank account and with using a computer to execute a task to gain illegal access to software or data stored on a computer. He tried to commit this crime in the period June – August 2009.
 
Magistrates will announce the sentence on December 17.
